"Parenthood" A Small Debate

I know this isn't a lesbian topic, but I wanted to talk about last week's "Parenthood". I don't know about you guys, but I watch each week's episode almost religiously. Well, I watch it eventually. BUT I do watch it every week. I finally got around to watching last week's episode (I've been preoccupied with reruns of America's Next Top Model) and in my opinion, it left a lot to be desired. I could probably go on for a week with everything that bothered me.

1.) The Seth Story Line: I don't like Seth. Let's get that in the open. I. Don't. Like. Seth. I want to slap him every time I see him walk onto the screen. And I get royally pissed off every single time Drew gets upset at Amber. I know, I know. Drew is just a kid and he wants his dad. But at one point Amber was a kid too, and she was completely let down. I WANT Amber to yell at Seth. He is a big boy and he needs to hear it. I know there are a few things I would be more than happy to tell (scream at) my dad. But the point of this post was not to get into my own daddy issues.

My actual point was to talk about issue number two:

2.) The Crosby/Gabby/Jasmine Story Line: Now, I have many opinions on cheating. Sometimes I'm not even sure what my opinion on cheating is. Obviously, it's wrong. But the real question is whether cheating can ever be forgiven. I think the answer to that depends entirely on the situation and people involved. With Jasmine and Crosby? Absolutely. I think it can be worked out. But should it? I don't think so. And if it does, there are some serious changes that need to be made. Jasmine is controlling. She can be a bitch. Crosby can be immature. He made mistakes in the past. But he's trying his best. Jasmine and everyone else need to realize that.

Jasmine took Jabar away on a weekend that she KNEW meant a lot to Crosby. Does that make what he did right? No, but it does help explain it. This is a different problem from the one I really want to talk about.

Gabby felt she couldn't continue working with Max since she liked Crosby. Okay. She made the decision she felt she needed to make. So why is everyone blaming Crosby? Sure, he made a mistake and his family has every right to be mad at him. Because he hurt Jasmine. They have no right to be mad at him for what Gabby did. Gabby is a big girl and she made the decision to quit. SHE quit. Crosby did not tell her to quit. He didn't tell her that he would be with her if she quit. She didn't feel comfortable keeping the job. Right or wrong, it was her choice. Adam blowing up at Crosby was completely wrong.

These are just my opinions here. I really want to know what you guys think about this one, so please leave a comment! You can also tweet me at @liberallesbian or e-mail me at liberallesbian37@gmail.com
